If you run a Very
Special Festival in a strong community and you want us to come for
at least three years then this is a wonderful show. We have been
performing at Stromness Shopping Week, in Orkney, for the last six
years, and at Greystones Arts Festival, in Ireland, for four. Every
time we go we make up a new "soap" family story. This year we got
married. As you can see Morag was pregnant. There were quite a few
surprises! Designed to run over a three day festival, the idea is to
make everyone feel that they really are going to the wedding, so
that they all come dressed in their wedding finery (and thereby get
a free glass of bubbly!) The early days are taken up with 'buying'
the wedding dress etc (in a local shop), the Stag night / hen night
(or in the case of Orkney 'the Blackening!'), and a Mr. & Mrs.
Competition'.
It can be as big as you want! In Stromness the Bride arrived in a horse
drawn carriage, two "Jarl Squads" made up the guard of honour, four
firemen helped the very pregnant Morag up the stairs, and the real vet
delivered the baby (he was wearing his long rubber gloves!) and the
Reception had 200 people all in wedding wear! A local baker even made a
gorgeous three tier wedding cake. As the editor of the Orcadian said "It
was just like a real wedding, except there were no fights!" The other
characters involved - the minister, the best man, the bridesmaid and
father of the bride are all played by enthusiastic locals, so you get a
big (and meaningful) show for very little outlay!
"Don't believe a word you've heard about Big Rory and the team - they are much better!!!! The most professional, hilarious, wonderful act we have ever had. Loved by everyone, they brought the town to a standstill..... .....never boring and constantly evolving..... .....an event organisers dream booking."

The Sand Dance
"The Sand Dance routine & The Highlanders Nightmare were welcome
additions to the program, although I felt the High street was was far to
narrow to hold the crowds that wanted to see them." -
